How Paint-Your-Own Pottery Works
One of the unique things about The Bent Brush is that, unlike most paint your own pottery studios, we don’t charge a studio fee*, unless you come back to finish a piece on a separate visit. We don’t feel someone who is painting a small figurine, which may only take an hour and a small amount of paint to complete, should pay the same studio fee as someone painting a large vase that takes several hours and more paint. When you choose which piece you want to paint, the price of that piece includes, paints, supplies, tools, glazing and firing of the piece.

Step 1
Pick your pottery from hundreds of unfinished bisque pieces on our shelves.
Step 2
Plan your design, and select your colors from dozens of super shades! Paint your heart out! Drop your inhibitions, color outside the lines, finger paint, splash, splatter, experiment, and just plain “Go For It!”
Step 3
You leave your finished project with us, we fire it and you will be able to pick it up in a week.

What is The Bent Brush, and where is it located in Cape Coral?
The Bent Brush is an award-winning "Paint Your Own Pottery" and wet clay studio located in the heart of South Cape Coral on SE 47th Terrace. We offer a creative, relaxed environment where community members can paint ceramics, try the potter’s wheel, or host private art events.
How does the pricing work at The Bent Brush?
We offer an all-inclusive pricing model for your initial visit! The price marked on your chosen pottery piece covers all paints, supplies, and kiln firing for your first session. If you are unable to finish your masterpiece in one sitting and need to return for a second session to complete the same project, a small studio fee will then apply to cover additional table time and supplies.
Do I need to have artistic talent or experience to visit?
Not at all! Our studio is designed for all skill levels, from toddlers to professional artists. Our "Inspiration Station" provides stencils, silk screens, and stamps, while our friendly staff is always available to teach you simple techniques that ensure your finished piece looks professional and beautiful.
Do you require reservations for small groups or families?
No reservations are necessary for individuals or small groups. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis for walk-ins during regular studio hours. For larger groups of six or more, or if you are interested in a private party, please contact us in advance to ensure seating availability.
What types of pottery items can I choose from?
We carry a rotating selection of hundreds of bisque items, including mugs, plates, seasonal decor, kitchenware, and fun figurines for children. Whether you want to create a functional dinnerware set or a unique holiday keepsake, our inventory is constantly updated with the latest trends and local favorites.
How long does the painting process take, and when can I pick up my piece?
Most guests spend about 1.5 to 2 hours painting their pottery. Once finished, we glaze and fire your piece in our kilns, which takes exactly seven days. You’ll receive a text notification when your item is ready to be picked up from our South Cape Coral location.
Does The Bent Brush offer more than just pottery painting?
Yes! Beyond bisque painting, we offer wet clay experiences and Potter’s Wheel sessions. These classes allow you to build something from scratch or learn to throw clay on a wheel. We also host birthday parties, corporate team-building events, and special "after-hours" themed workshops throughout the month.
